Informative and amicable staff who were always there to help. The location was unbeatable and peaceful, within easy walking distance of Church of st Aldhelm. It took me 5 minutes to walk to the bus stop.

Loved this pet-friendly hotel, and we would come here again. The location was exceptionally nice and absolutely perfect, in the art and the interior design was very modern. Plus, it was so close to a beautiful garden and Longleat which is 15minutes away.

The staff are wonderful and would be the most important factor in our recommendations to others - even though the food, facilities, spa etc were also all very good indeed.
Perhaps tea facilities in rooms.

One of the few hotels nowadays where the staff actually offer and take the time to show you to your room on arrival. Excellent cooked breakfast - not the usual congealed buffet most hotels provide. Unfortunately due to the snow I arrived too late in the evening to sample dinner as well. Although I didn't have time to use the hotel's gym or pool facilities in the morning, both looked modern and well equipped.

A most welcoming, peaceful, relaxing hotel. The staff were friendly and helpful, the location beautiful, the bed comfy and the spa lovely. Very relaxing place to stay.
More food choices would have been nice. The evening restaurant food was a bit fussy when it would have sometimes been nice to have something more plain!

The service was amazing. The room was stunning and bigger than our entire flat. We ate at local restaurants which were also perfect. I would recommend this hotel to anyone and we will definitely be staying there again.

Consider requesting a quiet table away from families when dining to enhance your experience during meal times.

Location, food.
Very expensive for average facilities. Room small, no bar or kettle and far too hot. Poor value for money.

Impressive house and grounds. Swimming pool facilities excellent. Staff friendly and professional. Good food. Overpriced I feel for the bed and breakfast deal we received. Would I recommend this hotel, yes. Would I return for value for money, probably not.
The bed mattress wasn't very comfortable, a double bed made up of two single ones. Tendency to roll into the middle of the bed.

The location
Too hot Refurbishment work appeared to be ongoing that we not aware of prior to booking, on booking or on arrival! Needs a tidy up in places

We liked very quite and comfortable rooms, wonderful gourmet restaurant and lovely gardens.
Just two points: the swimming pool was overload of chemicals so it was very unpleasant to swim in it; the service in the restaurant was a bit slow - we spent 2,5 hours to have a dinner (with two young children it wasn't good!).
